About the Event

In this workshop, historian Dr. Vivien Ng and cultural studies scholar Dr. Gwen Shuni D’Arcangelis demonstrate the methods they use to construct their family histories and how to connect personal family histories to larger historical events. We will first discuss our personal stories and how they fit into Asian American & Pacific Islander history. We will then help workshop participants start their own journeys to learn more about their family histories and get connected to their place within the larger fabric of AAPI history.

View map for the Humanities Building. Room 354 is on the third floor. For accessibility, elevator is available. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect immunocompromised individuals, speakers ask that all attendees wear masks. Masks will be provided at the entrance.
